Northern Harrier Circus hudsonius

The Northern Harrier has an owl-like face, small hooked bill, and owl-like discs around its eyes. In both the male and female of any age, a bright white rump patch can be seen on their dorsal side. Harriers cruise effortlessly above grassy areas waiting for a chance to suddenly pounce on a small animal.
